The Real Techniques Stippling Brush

This is not just any stippling brush. This is the Real Techniques Stippling Brush.
I'm a little hesitant about writing about Real Techniques brushes because everyone already has and I'm late as usual. However, just in case there is anyone left out there who hasn't heard yet, then let me tell you, "Real Techniques Brushes Are A-Mazing"! It needs the capitals, believe me.

For quite a while, I've wanted  the Sigma stippling brush, but not enough to go through the palaver of ordering from the U.S. Then I wanted the Real Techniques buffing brush but didn't want to order the whole core collection just in case I was disappointed. So, when Boots started stocking them I decided to start off slow and buy the Stippling Brush for £11.99. Best money I've ever spent. Well probably. But the fact remains, I love this brush. I love its synthetic hair. I love its pink handle. I love that Samantha Chapman herself uses the brushes. I love how it makes my foundation apply. I love love love.

I have always used my fingers to apply my foundation, mistakenly thinking the warmth of my fingers would help to blend it into my skin (what a joke - I always have really cold hands) and that my digits could get into all the crevices of my face. No. And I've been doing it like this for years! This brush has shown me the light. I no longer have unexplained non-blended areas, or streaks, or red bits from getting over zealous with my fingers. The brush practically does everything for you, and gets the best out of whichever foundation I use. I now depend so much on this brush that each evening, as I wash it, I feel a tiny bit anxious because I can't use it until it's dry.

I'm so glad the RT brush is in my life!

Any suggestions for my next RT purchase?

Nautical Stripes and Wildflowers

I was so inspired by the spring - like weather we had last week. It's so refreshing to the system; it just makes me want to DO something! Unfortunately, today is neither warm or sunny. Despite this, I got dressed with spring in my heart but with winter in my head (and bones!) hence the very woolly tights. I'm just not ready to lower the denier yet!

This is a skirt I got from Tokyo almost a year ago, and the background is navy, definitely not black! The rest of the outfit is from Topshop many many seasons ago. It's lucky I enjoy shopping from my own wardrobe because I've had to do it a lot recently. Did anyone else find nothing to their tastes this autumn? Even the spring/summer stuff is proving to be more difficult than usual. If atleast one shop would realise that I can't wear pastels as my skin is already too pasty then I'd be ok! I may end up changing my tune later on as needs must!

I really like this outfit. There's something so vibrant about the blue in the jacket/cardy that makes all the other colours step up their game! I realise it's quite busy but it's the way I like it. You can't really see but I'm also wearing biker boots from H&M. They ground everything, and stop some things I wear from looking too dress up!

Thanks for reading. Please leave a comment, I'd really love to hear from you.

Look What I Bought

Hello again,

I realise it's been over a week since I last blogged but I have been wrestling with my camera that whole time and it doesn't like me anymore!

However, I did manage to take some time out and do a little tiny bit of shopping. I was absolutely delighted to see Elle magazine had a free Soap and Glory mascara with it this month. I love Elle. I like Soap and Glory. I love mascara. What could go wrong? Well, I'm not all that thrilled with this particular mascara. I obviously don't hate it, because I'm still using it, but it's nothing special and I ALWAYS want special. Here are the pros and cons:
Pros
  1. Nice fat brush
  2. Builds up well
  3. Very black
  4. It's called Thick and Fast (he he!)
Cons
  1. After several hours I get those mascara flakes on my under eye area
  2. It doesn't make my lashes as thick as some other mascaras have
  3. I find the brush a tad scratchy
Overall though, I like it more than I don't and also I didn't have to pay the full £10 which takes the edge off.

I also bought a nail varnish from Marks and Spencer (bear with me) in 'Jade' and some sunglasses from H&M. They were 50p. Fifty pence!!! When I picked them up they were coated in this greasy, slimy kind of coating but I just washed them when I got home and BOOM - squeeky clean sunnies.
Also in H&M, I grabbed this two pack of studs. I'm so happy I did because looking through my earrings now it would appear that three quarters of them are hearts. I didn't see that happening!

Going back to the Marks and Spencer nail varnish, I actually already own three. I feel they're undiscovered and underated. I mean, who goes to into M&S to buy nail varnish? Well, me quite frankly, but thats only because they have fun colours, apply easily and dry kinda fast. Also, very importantly, they have the leaping bunny symbol, which is very good.

Thats all for now. Please leave a comment, I'd really love to hear from you!

Hello! My first blog. The birth of my blog if you will. This is a momentous occasion.

I've started this blog because I love clothes. Literally the highlight of my day is getting dressed. That's not to suppose it goes down hill from then on, but it is definitely what gets me out of bed in the morning.

I think there's so much potential with clothes. You can say a lot or a little; look like this or like that; attract or repulse. You can be what you want to be or who you are. There are so many options! Make up is a similar tool, but I've come to that much later. Quite a bit later actually.

Here are my blog resolutions
  1. I will blog about anything that floats my boat
  2. I will try my best to post consistently
  3. I will share what I actually wear
  4. I will always give my honest opinion

Expect OOTD's, wish lists (because I always want stuff), reviews of the stuff I buy, general wonderings and maybe a few Eye of the Day's (if I like the make up I'm wearing that day).

I hope you find this blog interesting/useful/entertaining. Please leave comments, I'd love to hear from you!

Here I am having a blast!
